Everyone tries several haircuts trying to find the right style for them. Choosing a hairstyle is a high-stake gamble, but finding the right flair is actually more based on science than luck.

The secret for the optimal hairdo isn’t in the hair itself, but rather the chin. Firstly, pull your hair back and look in the mirror. If you have a round face, adding height or long, choppy layers can help enhance your looks. If you have a square jaw, try soft, wispy bangs that will balance out the sharp angles. However, if you have an oval face, congrats. Basically every hairstyle would work for you due to the naturally harmonious morphology.

Now, it’s texture. If you have tight curls, straight hair is going to be a nightmare to maintain in the morning. If your hair’s texture is fine, simply try getting more blunt cuts to add more volume. If your hair is thick and wavy, always try to take some ‘weight’ off so you don’t end up with triangle-heads or square-heads that make your head look twice as large.

Lastly, your lifestyle is also very important. Are you genuinely going to spend ten to twenty minutes every morning blow-drying your hair? If not, go for low-maintenance styles with short sides and natural length.

Now, I’ll give you a real tip. Try using those new AI filter apps that lets you try new hairstyles. This might seem ridiculous, but it’s better to see failed versions of your hair digitally than in real life. This lets any choice you make be the culmination of your attempts, rather than an onset of disasters.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
